Glad I finally made it to your New England blog, & sorry it took so long. Very entertaining & informative, just like your film blog & your new NE theater blog. I was a Red Sox fan as a youth & remember Rice as a fearsome hitter; glad he was inducted into the HOF.
Thanks for stopping by, John. If you were a Red Sox fan in younger days, then surely that is to be affected with a more bittersweet curse than puppy love, or the memory of the first time you tripped while rushing to catch a pop fly in "deep roving right field" between two parked cars on your street. Welcome, brother.
Yes, that is bittersweet. It's more bittersweet because when I moved to San Francisco in the late 80s I threw my lot in whole-heartedly as a Giants fan & had to suffer thru their (old version) Red Sox-like meltdown in the 02 series against the Angels. But I was happy to see the Sox win in both 04 & 07.
Our sympathies to the Giants fans in '02. Been there, done that.
